Tune is more than just a company. It is a vibrant and diverse collective. A place where the brightest minds in the field are fostered by an ego-less culture that prizes merit and community in equal measure. These core values pervade all that we do and achieve.

We seek out new ways to solve problems and opportunities to learn and improve

Explore passionately

We are a band of solutionaries, living and breathing at the cutting edge of genetic medicine and technology. As such, we constantly seek out new ways to solve problems, and seek out opportunities to learn and improve.

"Exploration is curiosity put into action."

— Don Walsh

Intimate, Lively, Buoyant

Video, How do you innovate boldly?

Innovate boldly

Epigenome editing is a fast-growing field – the stakes are high, and the time is now. For this reason, we encourage big steps, bold actions, and the fearless application of unconventional thinking.

"Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go."

— T.S. Eliot

We value team effort over individual achievement, and we strive to embody and encourage trust

Execute selflessly

We are an orchestra, not a band of soloists. We value team effort over individual achievement, and we strive to embody and encourage trust. Between our program teams and throughout the company, our working goals are collaborative, not competitive.

"No one can whistle a symphony. It takes a whole orchestra to play it."

— H.E. Luccock

Diverse perspectives and backgrounds enhance the work we do and fuel our dedication to fostering a sense of community where everyone feels valued and accepted—where together, we can orchestrate change for people living with disease. Tune is proud to be an equal opportunity employer committed to fair hiring practices regardless of race, color, gender identity or expression, physical or mental disability, age, religion, national origin, ancestry, sexual orientation, marital status, or veteran status.

Tune HQs

Tune is based in two exceptional cities with thriving local cultures and more than a few reasons to stay and fall in love.

Seattle
Durham
Seattle

City + Outdoor Living

With its bustling downtown and its close proximity to both mountains and sea, Seattle is a haven for those who want the best of both worlds. You can explore the city’s art districts and restaurants one day, and decide whether you’ll hike the Cascade Mountains or cruise through Puget Sound the next.

High-tech HQ

Since 1990, tech and biotech giants alike have been flocking to the Emerald City to set up shop, creating a thriving startup scene and a world of high-end employment opportunities. Apple, Amgen, IQVIA and BMS are just a few of the titans that have made their homes here, supporting a vibrant and cerebral city culture.

Boat-lover’s Paradise

Sandwiched between Puget Sound and the Lake Washington, there’s no better place to stretch your sea-legs. From kayaks and paddleboards to speedboats and island-hoppers, there are hundreds of ways and places for locals to enjoy the water in Seattle – and they do.

Rich Musical History

Birthplace of the inimitable Jimi Hendrix, Seattle has birthed many unique movements in musical history – from 1920s jazz through 80s yacht rock, 90s Grunge, and beyond. So whether you’re into sharp suits and loafers or flannel shirts and Doc Martens, you’ll find musical inspiration here.

Fine Dining and Coffee

Renowned as the Coffee Capital of the U.S., Seattlites can enjoy the highest-quality blends and brews in cafes and coffee-houses throughout the city. But beyond this, the city also boasts some of the finest seafood restaurants in the country, and an eclectic mix of cuisines – from Japanese, Chinese, and Korean-inspired fusion to French, Italian, and Native American. Rest assured: you’ll dine well in Seattle.

Durham

High Quality, Low Cost Living

Despite the daily influx of transplants from New York, Boston, and San Francisco, for now at least, the cost of living in Durham remains more than 20% below the national average. Few places offer the combination of vibrant, growing culture and bang for your local buck.

Nature All Around

North Carolinians love their local Nature. The third most biodiverse state in the US (after Hawaii and Alaska), North Carolina’s unique mountain, marsh, and coastal geography has made it home to hundreds of unique plant and animal species. Mere minutes from downtown Durham, you can hike, bike, or horseride through Duke Forest, swim in the Eno River, or enjoy the 55-acre majesty of Duke Botanical Gardens.

Outer Banks and Appalachians

A couple of hours’ ride east or west from Durham takes you to the pristine beaches and barrier islands of the NC Outer Banks, or to the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. You can sail, surf, and sunbathe one weekend, then hike, camp, or hole up in a mountain cabin the next.

Creative Arts and Culture

For those who enjoy art and live performance, Durham has a thriving local scene. Enjoy local art each month at the Third Friday art walks and gallery crawl. Experience international masterpieces at the Nasher Museum of Modern Art. Or see concerts, stand-up comedy, and Broadway shows at the Durham Performing Arts Center (DPAC).

Award-Winning Bars and Restaurants

With its chilled vibe and access to high-quality farms and fisheries, world-renowned chefs have flocked to Durham over the last 20 years. The result is a quiet, southern city with a wide variety of exciting restaurants, bars, and eateries, and a hidden Mecca for foodies. The city actively limits chain restaurants in favour of unique and family-owned enterprises, which should tell you something about the sacred status of food in Dur’m.
