Scientist or Engineer, Process Technology Development

Tune Therapeutics is seeking a Scientist or Engineer to join the CMC Technology and Feasibility (CMCTF) team. We are looking for a critical thinker and team player to contribute to our team’s efforts to identify enabling technologies for use with our epi-editing TEMPO platform. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing, developing, and implementing cutting edge process technologies for use in iPSC expansion, maturation, and differentiation workflows. As a Scientist or Engineer in the CMCTF group you will have the following technical responsibilities:
- Identify novel and established process technologies for use in discovery, clinical, and commercial enabling efforts
- Design feasibility studies comparing technologies to in-house gold standard protocols
- Develop and execute fit-for-purpose iPSC expansion, maturation, and differentiation processes
- Provide use case and guidance of selected technologies to program stakeholders and leadership
- Work with colleagues to maintain laboratory in good working order as well as uphold standards of safety
- Maintain laboratory notebooks and other documentation as need for regulatory filings
Education and Experience Required:
- PhD with 0-3 years or MS with 3-6 years or BS with degree with 6-10 years of experience
- Background in cell biology, Immunology, microbiology, bioengineering, or relevant biomedical sciences required
- Experience with iPSC cell culturing techniques and platforms (e.g., 2D culture and 3D bioreactors)
- Foundational knowledge of cell therapy process development: emphasis on iPSC
- Previous experience with CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing or epigenetic editing approaches is desired
- Experience with ex vivo culture media formulation and testing is desired
- Familiarity with design-of-experiment design is desired
- Familiarity with process characterization analytical methods, such as multi-color flow cytometry and cell-based functional assays is desired
- Experience with Electronic Laboratory Notebooks (ELN)
- Demonstrated collaboration skills working cross functionally and maintain strong stakeholder relationships
