Research Associate/Senior Research Associate
At Tune Therapeutics we are focused on the generation of novel cell and gene therapy products achieved using our epigenome editing and gene regulation platforms. We are looking for highly motivated research associates interested in working on cutting-edge projects related to epigenome engineering. Job description and responsibilities:
Research associates will work closely with a supervising scientist to design, carry out, and troubleshoot experiments that work towards the development of cell and gene therapy products. In addition, they will be expected to:
- Maintain accurate and up to date records of experiments
- Generate summary data from experiments performed and present results to supervisor and others
- Work collaboratively with other Research Associates and Scientists as part of larger projects
- Continue to learn and develop new skills to further assist the research goals of Tune Therapeutics
Qualifications:
Ideal candidates will possess the following skills to perform the job successfully.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of experience in a discipline related to biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Experience with recombinant DNA technology methods including plasmid construction and bacterial transformation. Familiarity with, or the ability to learn, PCR and QPCR reaction design/troubleshooting and isothermal DNA assembly (“Gibson cloning”).
- Familiarity with general molecular biological techniques including purification of RNA, DNA, and protein from mammalian cells, immunofluorescence staining, protein immunoassays such as western blot and immunoprecipitation, etc.
- Mammalian tissue culture experience and the ability to work using sterile technique, as well as interest in learning novel tissue culture procedures.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Flow cytometry
- Library preparation for high-throughput sequencing
- Mouse tissue analysis and histological assessment, including immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence on tissue sections, and DNA/RNA/protein analysis.
- Experience using statistical packages for data analysis
- Experience using an electronic laboratory notebook
